Finals concerts a high standard

The Drei Orchesterstücke by the winner of the competition, German Joachim F.W. Schneider, rely strongly on the German modernist tradition. Their structure is seamless and unproblematic.

The composer works from a sculptor's vision, which brings to life an amusingly swinging environment containing a wealth of building materials in different hues. The work draws its strength from an intellectually abstract atmosphere. The high level of craftsmanship and the exploitation of the resources of a multilayered orchestra led the work to victory.
