Stage Presence and Orchestral Colours

The chain of live composers was given a follow-up as the winner of the II International Uuno Klami Composition Competition - Joachim F.W. Schneider - and one of the leading Finnish composers - Kalevi Aho - were sitting among the concert audience. The high-quality handicraft and multi-layered use of orchestral resources led Schneider to the composition competition victory in 2009. The same qualities came out in the world premiere of Stretto, Variationen in Tempo und Textur that was dedicated to the Kymi
Sinfonietta. The work that opened nearly from the emptiness with its repressed tone colours created mystical feeling of waiting. The tightening texture that ascended to a searing accent became into interesting play of colours along with the emergence of the percussion part.
